The diTrevisi family came to power in this Delonan land in 724, solidifying its hold over neighboring islands between 747 and 804. Over time, as with any ruling family, the Dukes (Doges, in local parlance) became sedentary and less ruthless; they suffered a slow shift of power from the Doge to the noble families, as those families turned their attentions to skimming from the flow of trade.

Alessandro diTrevisi came to power in 951 upon the death of his grandfather. His succession was contested by powerful factions in the family and court, who planned a coup. In Alessandro, however, lived much of the family's original ruthlessness. The plot was exposed, the rebels hung or exiled, and their lands given to Alessandro's supporters. The purge of 955 made Alessandro the Doge strongest in his position for generations, and the Vallinan nobles old enough to remember it still tremble at the memory of the Doge's fury.

However, a plague in 987 struck the deTrevisi like a scythe, and the Doge lost his wife, both his daughters, and his eldest son. His youngest son, Rudel, died under mysterious circumstances in 994, leaving the Doge heirless.

In 1001, on his 70th birthday, the Alessandro announced that he would be stepping down as Doge. He named Severus diMarra, head of one the duchy's powerful families, as his heir, and retired to his estates.

Doge Severus almost immediately announced a normalization of trade with Seiguntou. This has brought the duchy much new trade, as goods flow into Vallino en route to Seiguntou, and vice versa. However, many Delonan lands (and Allondell) considered this to be "selling out" so soon after the war with Yamamoto, and some have boycotted the duchy.

Severus died in August 1003, and his son Innocenti took the throne.
