“The Festival of Saturday”
Continuing Game 136

Across the length and breadth of Allondell, the atmosphere in taverns and market squares has taken on a nervous quality. If asked, any patron or proprietor will explain this growing air of anxiety by pointing to a notice hung on a nearby wall. In immaculate calligraphy on a sheet of crisp parchment, it reads:

Friends, travelers, and wayfarers of all stripes,

It is my great honor and solemn duty to invite one and all to observe with us one of the holiest of holy days of our faith. The importance of this occasion cannot be overstated; from faintest sunrise to deepest midnight, all of our faithful shall spend the day in deep contemplation of the mysteries of the Orphan God, and any among you who wishes to join us in honoring this sacred time will be offered the opportunity to earn His blessing for the coming year. Be you a warrior bold, a spinner of spells, a follower of another deity, or skilled in any other craft, you shall find a place suited to your talents in our devotions. We ask that you join us on the third day of May and help to make this Most Holy Festival of Saturday a memorable one.

— Peter Quince

The stalholders in the market of Benford are already scrambling to pack up their wares and vacate the town square. One of the vendors glares at the parchment notice hanging on the nearby tavern door and mutters, “Blasted Kintakans — they would decide to hold their madness here this year!”

“The Festival of Saturday” is an evening-long LARP event, set in the world of the Continuing Game.

Players are asked to RSVP at cg136. Players who RSVP by April 26th with the character they intend to bring will receive the benefit of an expedited check-in experience, in addition to the $5 discount for RSVPing.

The event will take place in a festival setting, at a holy day of Kintaka, the god of luck and mischief. There will be activities that ask characters to employ a variety of game skills, as well as those that require only a sense of fun. Most characters will find something to do, but combat optimization is not necessary to succeed at this game.

The game will feature snacks, but not a full meal.

For more information please contact the GMs, Jackie Axnderson and Beth Gxoldgar, at cg136. You must be 18 years or older to participate in this (or any) Quest event.
