== Exceptional Strength ==
by Julian Yap and Sam Sherry

Sam and I were talking about Exceptional Strength and how it is
currently overpowered. By giving an automatic Strong Grip on anything
in an Exceptionally Strong character's hand, the talent is I think
worth more than 2 points (Assuming the average Tavern Night is 4 hours
long, the Strong Grip power alone is the equivalent of casting Strong
Grip about 3 times, which would have cost 3 points using the old NSC
guideline, add this to the other powers it grants, and I think that it
is clearly worth more than 2 points).

In addition, at least in part because of the prevalence of the talent,
the spells Drop and Fling item are used very rarely, especially by NPCs
against PCs.

On the other hand, I do feel that removing the Strong Grip power
completely would in fact make it a slightly underpowered ability. Thus,
Sam and I would like to propose this compromise, restricting the Strong
Grip ability to Two Handed Weapons and Shields, which still grants the
Exceptionally Strong individual a substantial bonus, but one not worth
quite as much as it currently stands.

Thus I would like to propose that we change this line from the
Exceptional Strength:

"In addition, your grip is so strong that nothing may be ripped out of
it (as per the Strong Grip spell)."

to this:

"In addition, your grip is so strong that the spells Fling and Drop
Item will not work on anything you grasp in both hands (such as a
Two-Handed weapon) nor on a shield strapped to your arm"

Simply increase the cost of Exceptional Strength to 3.
