Country Info: Napermo

Terminology: Napermian (nah-PERR-mee-ann) people, one Napermian, many Napermians
Capital: Gioma (gee-OH-ma)
Monarch: none; the country no longer exists. The last duke was Duke Alberto.
Coat of Arms: Vert, a bordure or, a sea-lion rampant of the second.

Napermo (nah-PERR-moh) was a Delonan duchy in the archipelago's east. It was the first land invaded by Yamamoto in July 997, and finally fell at the end of that year. Duke Alberto was abroad on pilgrimage at the time of the invasion, and eventually took up court-in-exile in Veneza.

However, when the Delonans (led by the Venezans) signed a peace treaty consigning Napermo to be a Yamamotoan holding, the Duke and his court left Veneza in outrage. They now reside in Bonalba (a Delonan land that remained relatively neutral during the war).

Attitudes toward "Duke" Alberto and his court now range from sympathy for a ruler unjustly robbed, to condescension at his quixotic hope of liberating Napermo.

(The fate of his duchy aside, Duke Alberto was not considered the best of rulers, often viewed as lazy and vain; before the war it was common knowledge that his court toadies ran much of the duchy.)
